The creatures in the art gallery were created by Mrs. Vaughan’s Mixed Media and Mrs. Workman’s Sculpture classes.
Students looked at artists who created large scale sculptures and learned about art installations and public art.
They began their projects using only newspaper and masking tape, then formed armatures using found objects such as paper grocery bags, pages from discarded books, packing materials, tissues, and even toilet paper. They had to study the anatomy and proportions of the animals they were creating.
Students persevered over four weeks to complete their sculptures, with many of them larger than life. You and your classes are invited to visit this art exhibit!
